INTENDED USE

The geneMAP™ Thrombophilia Panel(4) Kit is a rapid and accurate real-time PCR test for the identification of factor V (FV), prothrombin (PTH) and MTHFR gene mutations. Thrombophilia is a term used to describe a condition in which the blood has an increased tendency to clot and is therefore at increased risk of venous thromboembolism (VTE). Many inherited and acquired factors that cause thrombophilia have been identified. The risk of thrombosis increases with an increase in the number of inherited and acquired risk factors. Genmark Thrombophilia tests offer a very simple procedure to identify the most relevant mutations associated with thrombophilia and the risk of developing venous thromboembolism (VTE). You can identify four genetic risk factors linked to thrombophilia simultaneously, together or separately as a multiplex.
